Hi! I’m Aixa, a London-based producer, general manager, and creative working across both subsidized and commercial theatre. I’m passionate about making theatre more accessible and championing representation, both on and off stage. I’m always excited to connect and collaborate with others who share a vision for a more inclusive, impactful industry.

About

I trained in dance and musical theatre before completing an MA in Creative Producing at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Throughout my life, I’ve had the privilege of performing on a multitude of stages like Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney World, as well as joining some incredible stage management teams across South Florida.

I had always known I wanted to be a producer, but what gave me my purpose was watching In the Heights as a family. My Dominican father, raised in Washington Heights, was seeing himself represented genuinely, kindly and lovingly for the first time in his life and I was inspired by that (I owe my career to Lin Manuel Miranda).

Ever since, I make interdisciplinary work that is accessible, uplifting, and rooted in authentic storytelling, and I care most about rooms where diverse voices feel safe, heard, and celebrated. I'm committed to bringing underrepresented stories to the stage and to building a theatre industry that is more equitable, safe, and accessible for all.

What I do

I have experience producing and managing West End concerts and have been granted Arts Council England (ACE) funding for a variety of productions both on commercial and subsidized scales. With Aixa Amarante Productions my work includes: RepresentAsian: An Evening of Asian Talent at the Lyric Theatre, Two Come Home by Joe Eason (staged reading), and I Am the Bomb at the Limelight Theatre.

As Creative Producer at The Avieli Arthouse, a creative collective advocating cultural unity through artistic empowerment, I recently helped programme events across London's Bloomsbury Festival.

As a general manager and team member, I've worked on productions including Once on This Island in Concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Your Lie in April The Musical at the Harold Pinter Theatre, Pippin 50th Anniversary Concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane and Figaro: A New Musical at the London Palladium.
